3 Achievable Saving Challenges

Saving money can be hard going if you live pay check to pay check. The idea of putting a large, lump sum of money away may be unrealistic for your lifestyle, so I wanted to share some realistic and achievable savings challenges that you could use throughout 2020.

Spare Change Jar

The spare change jar challenge is the simplest challenge of all. Grab a jar and start to fill it with all the spare change you have in your wallet. Get in the habit of emptying your wallet into the jar at the end of each day, Start this on January 1st and cash it in December for Christmas spends.

2020 1p Saving Challenge by Skint Dad

Skint Dad has a saving challenge to help you save a decent amount just by putting away your pennies. All you have to do is save 1p on January 1st, 2p on January 2nd, and so on. By the end of 2020 you should have saved £667.95!!!!

Weekly Savings Challenge by Apartment Therapy

If you want to save a little more, but still need manageable, smaller increments, then Apartment Therapy may just have the answer for you. Their challenge works on a seven day basis as follows:

  • Monday £1
  • Tuesday £2
  • Wednesday £3
  • Thursday £4
  • Friday £5
  • Saturday £6
  • Sunday £7

Then, at the end of the week, you reset and start again. This will mean saving £28 a week, and a whopping £1456 by the end of the year. You can find more on this challenge over at Apartmentherapy.com.
